District Judge Gary Miller has announced the newest Judge to serve the county.

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Hatfield as the next Special District Judge for Canadian County. Ms. Hatfield will be filling the office vacated by Judge Robert Davis. Judge Davis has been elected as the new Associate District Judge for Kingfisher County.

Ms. Hatfield has thirty years of experience as a lawyer in private practice, as the managing attorney for Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma, an Assistant District Attorney and she currently is the Director of the Child Support Division for the Department of Human Services in Canadian and Kingfisher Counties.

Ms. Hatfield will be a welcome addition to the current Judges of
Canadian County and all the Judges look forward to serving with her said Miller. Ms. Hatfield will assume her duties in early February 2011. The date of Ms. Hatfield’s swearing in will be announced so her family and friends may attend.

Ms. Hatfield was chosen from a field of thirty attorneys. The talent reflected by the applicants was extremely strong said Miller and Canadian County is blessed to have such wonderfully qualified attorneys ready to serve our citizens.
